Q: I’m going to arrive late, what should I do?

If you the check in pod and booking office is closed, please head to the main building where you can either check in at Guest Services before 8pm or the Bar after 8pm.

Q: Do you have an emergency contact?

Should your emergency be or an urgent nature, please dial 999 to contact the emergency services. Someone is available on site though 24 hours a day. Guest Services are available to assist from 8am-8pm Outside of these hours please ask for the Duty Manager at the bar or when Forest Point is closed, contact the Night Manager on 01594 809674.

Q: Can I drive around the site?

You can drive around the site to your unit, but you must comply with the 5mph speed limits. Vehicles are brought into the holiday park at your own risk, and we are not responsible for loss of damage of vehicles.

Q: Where can I park my vehicle onsite?

Accommodation, Glamping and Pitches have one allocated parking bay per unit. Any additional vehicles will be required to be parked in our overflow car park.

Q: Do you have Wi-Fi?

We have Wi-Fi across all areas of the park which is free for our onsite guests to use.

Q: Can I get food shopping delivered to site?

Yes, but we ask that you book the delivery for a time when you are sure you will be on site and in the same name as your reservations and give the supermarket your accommodation number when ordering. You can call us directly to check what your accommodation number will be.

Q: Where can I charge my electric car?

We have an EV charger onsite located on the side of the booking office. Charges apply but can be accessed. The charger is managed by Fuuse and it may be beneficial to download the app and register in advance

Q: Where can I hire bikes?

Whitemead has a bike hire shop onsite, this in not open daily and needs to be pre-booked in advance via the website.

Q: Are there any cycle trails near Whitemead?

We have a ‘Family Cycle Trail’ that can be found opposite the sites entrance. This trail is 10 miles long.

Q: Do you have telephones onsite?

We have two emergency phones onsite, outside the booking office and outside the main building.

Q: Do you have a defibrillator onsite?

Yes, there is one located outside the main building doors.

Q: Can I do my laundry onsite?

We have two laundry rooms onsite in both toilet blocks for an extra fee. You will need change to use these facilities. You will be required to have change to use these.

Q: Can we use BBQ’s onsite?

We do allow Barbeques on site and are available to be purchased from the onsite shop. All barbeques needs to have a stand so they are off the floor and cannot be used on any wooden or decking areas.

Q: Can I get mobile phone signal onsite?

Mobile signal at Whitemead has massively improved however can be a bit patchy on certain networks. The best signal on the park at the moment is EE.

Q: Where is the nearest supermarket?

We have our own onsite shop which is open 8am-8pm daily. Alternatively, there are two towns locally within easy driving distance. Lydney and Coleford are both approx. 5 miles away from Whitemead. Both towns have a Lidl but Lydney also has a Tesco and Coleford a Co-op.

Q: Where is the nearest cashpoint machine?

We do not have any cash machines onsite. The closest machine would be in Coleford at Tesco Express. Alternatively, there is a post office in the village of Parkend where you can withdraw cash. Remember you will require cash if you are wanting to play Bingo.

Q: What is there to do around Whitemead?

There are many local attractions around the site including; Go Ape, Perrygrove Railway, Clearwell Caves, Dean Forest Railway, Dean Heritage Centre, Puzzlewood and many woodland walks.

Q: What should I do if we have a problem during our stay?

We do all we can to ensure you enjoy your holiday but sometimes things may go wrong. If this happens, please inform Guest Services straight away.

If you are not happy with any aspect of your stay and wish us to rectify the matter, please tell the Duty Manager. An attempt will always be made to put right any matter that you raise. If this is not possible, then you will be given an explanation. Whatever the outcome, we hope that you will still complete the feedback form. Should you have an issue that you do not want rectified immediately but that you want us to be aware of then please do so via the comment form. Q: What time can I check in?

Check in time is 3pm for all accommodation and glamping pods, however you are more than welcome to arrive from 12pm and make use of the facilities onsite.

Q: What time is check out?

Check out is 10am, please bear in mind your keycards will stop working after 10am on day of departure.

Q: Are linen and towels included in my accommodation?

Bed linen and towels are included in Apartments, Log Cabins and Woodland Lodges. Bed linen is provided in Glamping Pods, but you will need to bring your own towels or alternatively order a towel pack when booking. Towels provided are only for use in the accommodation and so you will be required to bring your own for the swimming pool.

Q: Is the accommodation self-catering?

All our accommodation is self-catering.

Q: Do you supply toilet paper?

We supply a complimentary toilet roll in each bathroom to get you started. You can either bring extras or purchase supplies in our onsite shop.

Q: Do you supply cleaning supplies?

On arrival we supply you with complimentary washing up liquid, sponge and tea towel but you will may want to bring any extras.

Q: Is crockery and cutlery supplied?

Yes, all crockery and cutlery are supplied.

Q: Do you supply dishwasher tablets in lodges?

We do supply complimentary tablets to get you started in the accommodation with dishwashers but you want to bring extras or purchase some from our onsite shop.

Q: Do you supply an iron and ironing board?

All accommodation apart from glamping pods have an iron and ironing board.

Q: Are fire pits allowed onsite?

We do not allow fire pits or open fires fuelled by wood for safety reasons.

Q: Are the hot tubs checked?

Yes, the hot tubs get checked regularly throughout the day to monitor water and chemical levels.

Q: Can we have drinks in the hot tub?

Please don’t use any glasses in or near the hot tub. Any broken glass found in the vicinity of the tub will result in the tub needing to be fully drained to check for glass and be out of action for a significant amount of time. Please use plastic glasses instead.

Q: What can happen if I swallow the hot tub water?

Don’t immerse your head or swallow the water- this can increase the risk of infection.

Q:Can we use bubble bath or shampoo in the hot tub?

Please don’t add anything to the hot tub, this will affect the water quality and filter system.

Q: Can children use the hot tub?

All users of the hot tub must be over 8 years and above. Please ensure children are always supervised and all rules are followed.

Q: Can we play music in the hot tub?

We want everyone to enjoy themselves but please respect your neighbours- keeping any music to a minimum. Shouting or screaming outside will not be tolerated and Whitemead has a strict noise cut off at 11pm.

Q: What should we do if we have concerns regarding the hot tub?

Details of how to operate and use the tub correctly are provided but should you need any additional assistance, please contact Guest Services between the hours of 8am-8pm and a member of the team will be able to assist you.

Anything after 8pm will have to wait until the morning.

Q: What time can I check in for touring and camping?

Check in time is 2pm for touring and camping pitches. Due to access restrictions please do not arrive early unless you have booked an early check in.

Q: What time is check out?

Check out on pitches is 11am, however if the pitch is available you can book a late check out until 6pm for half the cost of the nightly rate.

Q: Is there electricity on my pitch?

All pitches have 16amp electrical hook ups. You must have at 25-metre cable, you can hire extensions from Guest Services if you are short. We do not allow Y splitters.

Q: How many cars are allowed on a pitch?

Only one car is allowed on a pitch, any additional must go to the overflow car park.

Q: Can I bring a small tent or gazebo on my pitch?

Small tents or gazebos may be erected in place of an awning, but both are not permitted together. Please see the pitching instructions

Q: Are fire pits allowed onsite?

We do not allow fire pits or open fires for obvious safety reasons.

Q: Can I purchase Gas bottle onsite?

Are onsite shop stocks a full range of Calor gas and camping gaz bottles. If you need to exchange your empty bottle, then please head to the shop.

Q: Is there a water point on each pitch?

No, but there are multiple water points around the area to fill up with water.

Q: Do you have a motorhome service point?

Yes, we have a dedicated service point where you can fill up with water and empty your drains. This is located near ‘The Mead’ at the washing up pod.

Q: What types of pitches do you have onsite?

We have gravel hardstanding pitches for motorhomes and caravans, pea gravel pitches for tents and motorhomes and grass tent pitches.

Q: Do you have Elsan points and refuse water points onsite?

Yes, located amongst the pitches we have both. Please check the site map to find the locations.

Q: What are the opening times of the facilities?

The main building is open from 8am every day. Food is served from breakfast at 8am-11:30am and main menu 12pm-9pm. The onsite shop and guest services is open 8am-8pm every day.

Q: Do I need to book for the bar?

Foresters Bar does not take reservations, just find a table and order at the bar with your table number.

Q: Do you offer Take Away?

Yes, we have a take away menu. This can be ordered at any till or online.

Q: What time is do you open the pool?

The pool, sauna, steam room, spas and gym are all open from 8am-8pm daily. (8am-9am & 7pm-8pm adults only.)

Q: Can children use the swimming pool?

Children under the age of 11 must always have an adult in the swimming pool with them.  All children from the age of 0-3 years must be accompanied in the pool by a responsible adult on a ratio of 1 adult to 1 child. All children aged 4-10 must be accompanied in the pool by a responsible adult on a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children.

Q: Does the pool have changing facilities?

Our swimming pool has unisex changing rooms with plenty of cubicles, toilets and baby changers. These are also lockers available and showers are available on poolside.

Q: What are the opening times of adventure golf?

Adventure golf is open daily from 10am-8pm, no pre-booking required, tickets can be purchased from Guest Services.

Q: Do you have onsite children’s playgrounds?

We have a junior playground and infant playground onsite.

Q: Does the site have onsite entertainment?

During off peak periods The Venue is open for entertainment every Saturday night and Foresters Bar has a quiz night every Tuesday and Sunday. During the school holidays and half term, The Venue is open every night for entertainment.

Q: How do I book activities?

Activites can be booked by calling Guest Services on 01594 560400 option 3. Activity programmes are available to view and download online

Q: Can I bring a pet on holiday?

Pets are welcome on any of our touring and camping pitches but we only accept pets in specific pet friendly accommodation units at an additional charge. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any dogs included in the dangerous dog act. Any pets found to be occupying a pet-free unit will incur a charge. Pets are allowed to stay unsupervised as long as they are housetrained and won’t have any accidents.

Q: Can my pet go into the main building?

Pets are not allowed inside the public buildings with the exception of service dogs and we recommend bringing proof of certification. Dogs are allowed on the terrace where we have an outdoor dining area as well as in ‘The Wild Boar’ our pet friendly coffee shop.

Q: Where can I exercise my dog?

Dogs need to be on a lead at all times when on site but access to the woodland is available directly from site. We do have an onsite dog agility park located near the meadow for dogs to run around and exercise off their lead.

Q: Where is the dog park located?

This is located to the east of the park between the meadow and the mead. It is a gated fenced off area with agility equipment where dogs can exercise off the lead.

Q: Do you have anywhere where I can wash my dog onsite?

Yes, at the side of the top toilet block, near the wash up area we have a specific shower area for dogs with warm running water.
