COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Monday 19 July brings to an end the legal restrictions relating to the pandemic. However, with the virus still living among us and infections continuing to rise, we still need to continue to act responsibly to protect our guests and our team.

We’ve found that the way we’ve been operating over the past year has enabled us to keep everyone safe and reassure our guests that their safety is of the upmost importance. With this in mind, we will continue to reopen in a cautious manner. 

This means that, from 19 July, sanitisation stations, screens at tills, a reduction in indoor dining capacity and dedicated queueing systems will remain in place. In addition to this we’ve significantly improved our outdoor areas, including creating a new terrace for dining and drinking. Where possible, we’ll be using the new terrace and other outdoor spaces to offer entertainment and activities. With regard to the swimming pool, we will continue to operate general swimming sessions only and will continue to run at a slightly reduced capacity. We will reopen the changing rooms for guests to use but do still encourage guests to come pool-ready. Due to reduced capacity in the pool we will therefore continue to operate for our holiday guests only.

We’ll be reviewing all these additional measures on a regular basis, taking into consideration any further guidance, management observation and feedback from our guests. We’re conscious that the removal of all restrictions brings with it a period of uncertainty, so we do ask that our team and guests are respected at all times.

We hope these small but important changes will continue to reinforce our commitment to keeping our guests and team safe. In addition, we’re still offering our ‘book with confidence guarantee’, so you can amend or cancel your booking at no extra cost.

Escape Leisure Club

We’re planning to welcome back our Escape Leisure Club members this autumn (the exact reopening date will be confirmed soon).

Escape Club membership will be open to all existing suspended memberships. We’ll also have some limited spaces for new joiners – these new memberships will be exclusively available to Boundless members.

We will no longer be offering our ‘turn up and swim’ option to Boundless members – use of the facilities will be for residents or Escape Leisure Club members only.

Cleaning and safety

We’re focusing on two key aspects of safety to combat the COVID-19 pandemic – improved hygiene and social distancing. We want to reassure our guests and our team that we’ve taken every measure possible to help keep everyone safe, while not losing sight of what we love to do every day.

Hand sanitiser is available around the park in high-risk areas, and at points where hand washing is not practical.

  • We’ve increased cleaning around ‘touch points’ such as doors, handles, switches etc and our housekeeping team are working hard to ensure all areas are kept clean and regularly sanitised.
  • Increased regular hand washing has become the norm and our team are all adhering to this before, during and after their shifts.
  • Social-distancing restrictions will need be complied with and signs to this effect have been installed in all our public buildings. We ask that all guests are respectful to others during their stay and make sure they keep to recommended social guidelines.
  • We ask guests to wear a mask or face covering when entering any of our public buildings in line with government advice.

These extraordinary circumstances make it difficult to commit to future holiday plans, but that doesn’t have to stop us looking forward to when we can go on holiday again. Our book with confidence guarantee means that if you’d like to plan your next holiday, we’ll hold the date for you. If things change in the meantime, such as needing to self isolate or a localised lock down and you need to change it, we’ll hold your deposit or move your break free of charge. However if we need to close due to a local or national lockdown we will provide you with the additional options of holding the price of your booking as credit on your account or a full refund.

Terms and conditions: Bookings are free to change up to 14 days before arrival. Offer is valid on all 2021 bookings and can be moved to an alternative date up to 12 months after the original stay date. If the price of your new booking is higher, you will need to pay the difference. If the new price is lower, we will refund the difference. If something unforeseen occurs – such as a requirement to self-isolate or a localised lockdown – we will extend our book with confidence guarantee right up until the day of your arrival. If we close due to a local or national lockdown, we’ll provide you with the additional options (where they were not already available) of holding the price of your booking as credit on your account or a full refund. If the new price is lower and you have booked to stay at Whitemead or our cottages we will refund the difference. *Book with confidence guarantee exclude Groupon bookings.
