Q. What time can we check in at Whitemead Forest Park?
For Caravan and Camping pitches you are invited to check in from 2pm
Accommodation & Glamping pods you can check in from 3pm, if you arrive to Whitemead earlier than the check in times you are more than welcome to use the on-site facilities in the mean time, you are more than welcome to 'check in' with us but your key cards wont be activated until 3pm.
Q. What time do we need to check out by on our departure date?
If you are using a caravan or camping pitch, you are asked to check out by 11am on your departure date.
For accommodation & Glamping pods your check out is at 10am. On your departure date.
Q. What deposit do I have to pay?
The deposit amount is 25% of the booking. The full balance is payable six weeks before your arrival date. Please note deposits are non-refundable.
Q. Are pets allowed to stay at Whitemead?
Yes, pets are allowed at Whitemead in caravans and certain types of accommodation. There is an additional charge and notification of their attendance must be made at time of booking.
For camping, dogs are permitted to a maximum of two per pitch. There is no extra charge for the first dog, however a daily charge for the second applies.
Q. Do you have pet-free lodges?
We do have pet free accommodation the following are pet free
- First floor apartments
- Selected number of ground floor apartments
- Deluxe / Deluxe plus log cabins.
We advise you check when booking.
Q. Do you have cots and high chairs available?
Yes, cots and high chairs are available and are charged at £3 per night, simply request them when making your booking.
Please note we do not provide linen for cots.
Q. Do mobile phones work at Whitemead?
Everyone asks if they'll get a decent signal at Whitemead, we have to admit it can be a bit patchy, and not all network providers work, the best signal on the park at the moment is EE, as we say, it can come & go!
We do have pay phones on-site.
Q. Do you have accommodation suitable for the less able?
Yes, a few of the premier apartments are suitable but not all of our apartments, therefore early booking is advised.
Q. What activities are available at Whitemead?
Whitemead has an impressive range of facilities including
- Heated indoor swimming pool, with separate area for children.
- A sauna, steam room and two hot tubs.
- On-site health and beauty salon offering a wide selection of treatments.
- A fully equipped gymnasium.
- Two outdoor play areas, and under 5's indoor soft play area.
- An off-peak activity programme and school holidays programmes.
- During school holidays a full entertainment programme.
Q. Is bicycle hire available?
Bike hire is available at Dean Forest Cycles which is located within the village.
The forest has a family cycle trail which leads right past the gates of Whitemead Forest Park and is about 17 miles long. People staying at the park can store their bikes on the balconies of the Log Cabins and The Bungalow. Bike hooks have been fitted to the Apartments so bikes can be locked securely,
However we DO NOT provide bike locks and Whitemead hold no responsibility for your bikes.
Q. Do you have a site shop?
Yes our on-site shop/off licence is open daily 8am - 8pm and can cater for all your requirements from basic groceries and newspapers, caravan and camping accessories and pet food to souvenirs and children’s toys.
You can also pre-order grocery/housekeeping hampers to be delivered to your accommodation before you arrive by calling 03301 230374.
Q. Do you have internet access?
Wireless internet is available, Please follow the instructions below...
1. Go on to settings on your device
2. Wi-Fi > then select 'Whitemead Guest'
3. This will then ask you to log in via Facebook
4. Once logged in or 'skip log in' you are free to browse the internet.
Q. Is Whitemead Forest Park open to non-residents?
Whitemead is open to non-residents and locals, this includes the use of our eating & drinking facilities, health & beauty salon and our activity programme. To use our Escape Leisure facilities you would be required to be either a Boundless member and pay as you go for £4.10pp or join our Escape Leisure Club.
